Coffee and photos

One of the things I enjoy most about photography is the opportunity to help tell stories that might otherwise go unheard.

Recently I had the privilege of photographing coffee producer Doña Sabina Cristina Silva for Syntrophy Coffee in Oaxaca.

Behind every cup of specialty coffee is a producer, a family, a community, and generations of knowledge. In Oaxaca, many of these traditions are maintained by Indigenous communities whose work and expertise deserve far greater recognition.

What impressed me about Syntrophy Coffee is their focus on connecting consumers with the people behind the coffee. Their philosophy is built around mutual benefit and traceability—helping create a closer relationship between producer and customer.

For me, projects like this are about more than creating images. They're about documenting people, culture, craftsmanship, and the work that sustains local communities.

I'm proud that my photography could play a small part in sharing Doña Sabina's story and highlighting the incredible coffee being produced in Oaxaca.

Thank you to the team at Syntrophy Coffee for the opportunity, and most importantly to Doña Sabina Cristina Silva for allowing me to document a piece of her journey.
